Software Engineer, Deploy Platform

About the Team

The Deploy Platform team is part of the Core Infrastructure organization that builds and operates reliable, scalable and repeatable cloud infrastructure for DoorDash developers to ship great products quickly and reliably.

The Deploy Platform team focuses on how to get all the work of our development teams safely and quickly into our production environments. They have a wide skill set, including coding, systems design, architecture, integration, and overall understanding of scale and developer productivity. The systems and tools they build are used by all DoorDash developers!

About the Role

Your responsibilities include:

• Design, build, operate and maintain tools, services, and infrastructure for building, testing and deploying software into production


• Lead projects that make the process of shipping code to production a fast and enjoyable experience


• Protect our customer experience by automating all aspects of software deployment

You will report into the Engineering Manager over the Deploy Platform team within our Infrastructure Org. This will be a hybrid position in either the Bay Area or Seattle.

• You have at least 2 years experience in a software engineering role, not including internships using Java, Kotlin, Python and/or GoLang


• You have professional experience using Kubernetes


• You have experience working on developer tools and infrastructure


• You love making other developers more productive


• You apply a product mindset to infrastructure


• You love systems and software and are competent in both


• Although not required, experience with Spinnaker, Helm, Docker, and AWS would be helpful for those in this role.

Compensation

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

• For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.


• For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).

The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.

$130,600 - $192,000 USD
