Role Overview:

We are seeking a talented and strategic Backend Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be a key player in designing and building the robust, scalable backend services that power our innovative AI-native agent workspace. You will be responsible for translating complex business requirements into high-performance, secure, and maintainable systems. This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer who is passionate about architecting cloud-native solutions and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with tech, product, and operations teams to define the right problems to solve and how to solve them.


• Design and implement scalable backend systems using modern tools and patterns.


• Architect cloud-native solutions using AWS, with a preference for serverless approaches.


• Support DevOps efforts including CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, observability, and performance optimization.


• Contribute to system design reviews, RFCs, and long-term architectural decisions for the backend platform.


• Help improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes across the team for backend development.
  

Who you are:

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including significant time building end-to-end systems with a strong focus on backend development.


• Fluency in Python (Java/Spring or Go is a plus.
  


• Strong understanding of AWS and cloud-native design (e.g., ECS, Lambda, Dynamo ).


• Experience with distributed systems, APIs, and data models.


• Proven ability to design and optimize systems for performance.


• Excellent technical judgment and the ability to work through ambiguity with minimal direction.


• Insurance or enterprise SaaS experience is a plus
