Help Shape the Future of Community Development in the East Bay

EBALDC is seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven fundraising leader to serve as Vice President of Resource Development & Advancement. This critical leadership role advances the organization’s mission, visibility, and long-term sustainability.

This is an opportunity to help lead one of the East Bay’s most impactful nonprofit community development organizations during a pivotal period of growth and transformation. The Vice President will partner closely with executive leadership, the Board of Directors, funders, and community partners to expand philanthropic investment, strengthen strategic relationships, and elevate the stories and impact of the communities we serve.

We are looking for a leader who brings both strategy and execution—someone who can inspire donors and partners, build scalable systems, develop a high-performing team, and advance equitable community development in the East Bay.

The Opportunity

As Vice President, Resource Development & Advancement, you will lead EBALDC’s enterprise fundraising strategy, overseeing institutional giving, major donor engagement, strategic partnerships, and philanthropic growth initiatives.

You will serve as a key external-facing leader, shaping how EBALDC tells its story, builds partnerships, and secures resources that directly support residents and communities across the East Bay.

This role is ideal for a collaborative, visionary advancement leader who thrives in mission-driven environments and is energized by both strategic leadership and hands-on execution.

What You’ll Lead

Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Lead EBALDC’s multi-year fundraising and advancement strategy
  • Drive diversified revenue growth across institutional, corporate, foundation, and individual giving
  • Partner with executive leadership and Finance on revenue goals, forecasting, and performance tracking

Donor & External Partnerships

  • Cultivate and steward major donors, foundations, corporate partners, and community stakeholders
  • Serve as a visible external ambassador for EBALDC
  • Partner with the CEO and Board to strengthen philanthropic engagement and strategic partnerships

Advancement Campaigns & Storytelling

  • Lead donor engagement campaigns and fundraising event strategy
  • Ensure fundraising efforts are mission-aligned, relationship-centered, and tied to community impact
  • Partner with Communications to strengthen storytelling and donor engagement

Systems & Team Leadership

  • Build scalable fundraising systems, reporting structures, and operational accountability
  • Lead and develop a high-performing advancement team
  • Establish sustainable processes that support long-term organizational growth

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Align fundraising, communications, and organizational priorities across departments
  • Help elevate EBALDC’s visibility and impact throughout the East Bay

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of progressive fundraising and advancement leadership experience
  • Proven success securing and managing major donor and institutional funding relationships
  • Strong executive presence with excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience building advancement systems, teams, and scalable fundraising infrastructure
  • Strategic thinker with strong operational and organizational leadership capability
  • Passion for equity, community-centered development, and EBALDC’s mission

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this position is $150,000–$175,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

EBALDC offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement benefits, generous paid time off, and professional development opportunities.

Why Join EBALDC?

EBALDC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building healthy, vibrant, and safe neighborhoods in the East Bay. Through affordable housing, resident services, neighborhood partnerships, and community-centered development, we work alongside residents to advance racial and economic justice.

Our work sits at the intersection of housing, community development, economic opportunity, and belonging. We believe strong communities are built not only through buildings, but through relationships, investment, and collective impact.

At EBALDC, you’ll join a mission-driven organization rooted in collaboration, equity, and community impact. This role offers the opportunity to influence organizational strategy, strengthen community investment, and help shape the future of neighborhoods across the East Bay.
