Pay: Starting at $18 .06/hour (includes a $1.00 2nd shift premium)

Gordon Food Service takes pride in delivering seamless order processing and delivery to our customers and our warehouse staff is the backbone of our success. As a custodian youll support our team by maintaining the buildings to ensure clean organized operations. You will also s weep mop scrub vacuum e mpty the trash clea r snow and maintain the landscaping . Y o u can e xpect to work in extreme temperatures (-25F to 100F) in the distribution center. T heres no experience required - well train you how to get the job done !

• You must be 18 years of age or older.

• Must be able to work holidays weekends and overtime as needed - holidays are very important to our customers!
• We have frozen products - your ability to work in extreme cold or hot conditions (-25F to 100F) is required while youre here.
• Must be able to read write and communicate in English (to read labels pick lists scanners signage company website information related to benefits updates complete paperwork and follow verbal instructions).
• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage and a background check.

Position Summary:

Maintains buildings in clean and orderly condition. With an assigned working area within the freezer temperature zone.

Essential Functions:

• Maintains the facility and associated paperwork to meet AIB and other food safety standards.
• Sweeps mops scrubs and vacuums; may include hallways stairs and office space within the distribution center.
• Empties trash and garbage containers and cleans snow and debris from walkways.
• Performs inspections of equipment and reports findings.
• Mows lawn trims shrubbery and cultivates flower.
• May remove charge transport and install hi-lo (forklift) batteries in the warehouse.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells alarms and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up movement or approach of equipment (including forklifts turrets overhead cranes conveyors trucks and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse) mechanical abnormalities and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
• Ability to read write and communicate in English
• Ability to read and understand information on a Material Safety Data Sheet and adhere to safety regulations and procedures
• Ability to work in a Freezer environment (Custodian Freezer)
• Ability to work independently and within team environment
• Must be able to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV) vacuum cleaner lawn mower gardening tools and other various types of equipment.
• Must have basic computer skills utilizing windows/Google G-suite based software.

Educational & Experience Requirements

Preferred

High School / Equivalent

Certification or License

Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certification required after hire

Minimum Years of Experience:

No previous experience required.
