Plant Electrical Supervisor
Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the HEP Maintenance Superintendent, the incumbent plans, assigns, directs, and inspects the installation, maintenance, repair, and testing of electrical equipment in hydroelectric or other generating plants, pumping plants, or related plant facilities within the San Joaquin Field Division. Supervises, through subordinate HEP Electrician II's, the work of groups of electricians and other journey levels engaged in the maintenance, repair and reconditioning of all electrical equipment in a generating plant, pumping plant and aqueduct, electrical equipment, including: large motors, generators, power transformers, circuit breakers, control switches, batteries, relays and control systems, refrigeration and air conditioning systems, elevators, pressure vessels and compressors, and cranes.

Special Requirements
Must have a valid California Driver’s License.
Under the provisions of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard CIP-004 as part of the Energy Policy of 2005, this position has authorized cyber access to or unescorted physical access around critical cyber assets and is subject to a satisfactory background check prior to appointment and every seven years thereafter.

We are seeking candidates with strong lead and/or supervisory skills including good oral and written communication skills. Interact professionally and cooperatively with the public and all levels of staff and promote a positive work environment. Candidate should possess knowledge and experience with Microsoft office, SAP, and other Plant Maintenance programs. Must be able to schedule, plan, and oversee daily activities of a Hydroelectric Plant Electrical Crew. Experience with preventative maintenance that includes record keeping and/or making recommendations. Ability to follow and enforce good safety practices. Must be willing to work irregular hours during outages or in emergencies.
The field divisions are 100% office-centric, candidate must be willing to work in person, as this position is not eligible for telework.
