The Wok Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes using traditional wok cooking techniques while maintaining speed, consistency, and presentation standards. This role plays a critical part in daily kitchen execution and works closely with the kitchen leadership team to deliver an exceptional guest experience in a fast-paced environment.

Salary
$70,304 annual base salary

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items using wok techniques such as stir-frying, deep-frying, and sautéing.
• Ensure proper seasoning, presentation, and portion control of all dishes according to brand standards.
• Execute orders efficiently while maintaining speed, accuracy, and quality during peak service periods.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Monitor food stock at the wok station and communicate supply needs to kitchen management.
• Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to coordinate ticket timing and order flow.
• Modify recipes or ingredients as needed to accommodate guest allergies or special requests.
• Properly operate, clean, and maintain wok equipment and station tools.
• Report equipment issues, maintenance needs, or safety concerns promptly.

Job Requirements

• Proven experience as a Wok Chef or in a similar role within an Asian or Chinese kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of wok cooking techniques, Asian ingredients, and flavor profiles.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen safety regulations.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Mandarin-speaking skills are a plus.
• Must be 18 years of age or older and legally authorized to work in the United States.
