Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Liston Animal Hospital is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our caring and passionate team. Our clinic is located in the heart of Kanata. We are offering a full-time position; new grads are welcome! Some of your responsibilities would include:
- Assisting during operations.
- Feeding and caring for animals.
- Maintaining supplies and equipment.
- Maintaining records.
- Completing laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging.
- Taking vital signs and collecting samples.
- Administering medications, drugs, and vaccines.
- Bandaging and wrapping wounds.
- Supporting animal examinations by assembling required supplies and instruments.
- Preparing surgical instruments.
- Completing local anesthesia.
- Placing catheters and obtaining blood samples.
- Maintaining sterile conditions.
- Preparing and verifying medications.
- Cleaning animal cages and equipment
Registered Veterinarian Technician Qualifications / Skills we are looking for:
- Knowledge of animal behavior
- Animal husbandry
- Love of animals
- Documentation skills
- Analyzing information
- Clinical skills
- Use of medical technologies
- Attention to detail
- Patience
- Verbal communication
- Technical understanding
- Knowledge of In-house Idexx lab Machines is an asset
