Physical Therapist Assistant (Pediatric)

Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy is a multidisciplinary outpatient private practice in need of a licensed Certified Physical Therapist Assistant. We are a growing and fast-paced campus that offers Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy services in a traditional clinical setting, as well as on our ranch, with the incorporation of the horse as part of a comprehensive evidence-based plan (hippotherapy.)

Physical Therapist Assistant Job Duties:
- Help patient accomplish goals outlined in treatment plan and effective use of therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as therapeutic exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities and in using assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
- Administer physical therapy treatment applying physical agents, electrical stimulation.
- Evaluate effects of physical therapy treatments and fit of prosthetic and orthotic devices by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; recommending adjustments and modifications in conjunction with primary physical therapist.
- Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment with primary physical therapist.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, according to the law.
- Maintain patient confidence and protects clinic operations by keeping information confidential, according to the law.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.
The compensation range varies based on experience, $58,240- $72,800.00/a year.
