Logistics and Trade Compliance Clerk
- Maintain logs and records of shipping documents, executed orders, freight quotes, rates, claims, etc.
- Administer the efficient movement of goods while ensuring compliance with relevant local, country, and international export laws and processes.
- Serve as administrative liaison with others internally and outside of the organization regarding issues related to logistics and trade compliance.
- Coordination of export shipments with various customers, suppliers, and freight forwarders to ensure on time and in full shipments.
- Schedule carrier pick-ups and customer returns as needed.
- Monitor and maintain HTS classifications for import and export parts database.
- Develop, maintain, and audit hard copy export files.
- Assist the team on the Global Logistics Metrics.
- Verify accuracy of shipment information and accurately complete export documentation based on the requirements of different countries.
- Ensure Harmonized Code, Country of Origin, and Pricing information agrees with billing invoice.
- Follow up on shipment status.
- Establish best practices for import/export operation process controls and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of three (3) years of clerical/administrative assistance experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work independently.
- Attention to detail.
- Friendly and helpful phone demeanor.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
- Associate degree preferred.
- Prior experience in Logistics, import/export and trade compliance.
- General knowledge of key trade areas, including but not limited to; EAR, HTS, CFR, NAFTA, AES etc.
