Engineering Manager
GlossGenius is seeking an Engineering Manager for a Core Product team to drive engineering quality, team health, and impactful outcomes for service businesses. This role involves deep ownership of one team, partnering closely with Product and Design to deliver technically sound and excellent user experiences.
Responsibilities will include:
- Own end-to-end execution for your team, including delivery, quality, scope trade-offs, and decision-making to ship features without accumulating technical debt
- Embed AI tooling into your team’s development process to accelerate cycles, improve code quality, and remove bottlenecks
- Architect AI-powered systems and tooling to increase team productivity and output
- Partner with Product and Design from early strategy through production, providing engineering perspective before decisions are made
- Contribute to technical direction, surface platform needs, address scaling challenges, and guide architectural decisions
- Develop your team by investing in growth, stretching high-potential members, and fostering an environment where people improve through collaboration
- Partner with recruiting to hire strong engineers, maintain a high bar for candidates, and build a culture that retains talent
You’re a great fit if you:
- Have 5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years managing a software engineering team at a high-growth technology company
- Have fundamentally changed your software development approach because of AI, using it to architect, debug, write, and review code, and can articulate where it accelerates output versus where human judgment is needed
- Make decisions and move quickly, setting direction and adjusting based on feedback
- Possess strong technical judgment, earning team trust and providing meaningful input on architectural trade-offs
- Have a track record of developing engineers and can point to their subsequent achievements
- Demonstrate customer-centric instincts, connecting engineering decisions to business outcomes
- Are comfortable collaborating closely with Product and Design to define both what gets built and how
Total Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $200,000–$240,000 plus equity and benefits. The compensation package depends on skills, experience, and education.
