Job: Material Handler

Shift: Days 6:00AM-6:30PM 223 Rotating Shift.

Location: Royal Canin (Fremont NE)

The role functions as a member of an area team that is directly responsible for the efficient production of quality products in the required quantities. This role will operate/change over specified machinery in the assigned area. Shipping Operators must ensure efficiency operational conformance product quality and continuous improvement. Shipping Operators must have the skill set to train and/or perform the tasks of other associates in the area as needed. This job requires strong communication interpersonal and team building skills to support site objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner at all times
• Perform periodic and routine inventories of raw materials in storage
• Provide and perform routine maintenance checks on equipment
• Assist in other production sanitation maintenance and quality activity in other areas as directed
• Perform housekeeping and sanitation procedures
• Provide functional communication with other staff members as necessary to optimize quality efficiency productivity and safety
• Loading trucks live loads and staged loads
• Ability to operate Fork lift (Expert Level)
• Direct ship responsibility including proper disposition of hold product food safety hold product and released product
• WMS BOL responsibility / accountability
• Support Warehouse Area Lead with all activities associated with shipping department

Physical/Environmental Requirements

• Standing on a concrete floor
• Sitting getting up and down off of a forklift often
• Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net bump cap ear plugs safety shoes and uniform)
• Bending stooping twist turn standing for extended time periods reaching climbing stairs and lifting up to 55lbs
• Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold dust dirt and chemicals
• Vision correctable to 20/20

Job Qualifications:

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have a High school diploma GED or equivalent education
• Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules
• Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language

Knowledge/Experience:

Forklift certified

Knowledge of inventory computer systems WMS

Food manufacturing experience and knowledge of food safety

Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
