Downtown SD Law Firm seeking Business Lit Associate - Hybrid

A well-established and highly respected litigation practice is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its growing team. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with business-owner clients on a diverse range of complex and engaging matters while maintaining a healthy work-life balance in a collaborative and collegial environment.

The ideal candidate will have substantial litigation experience and the ability to independently manage cases from inception through resolution. Attorneys looking for an associate, of counsel, or lateral partner opportunity are encouraged to apply.

Exposure to any of the following practice areas is highly desired: Employment, Professional Liability, Construction, Business, and IP litigation

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation matters from inception through trial and resolution
• Serve as the primary attorney responsible for case management and strategy
• Conduct legal research, draft motions, pleadings, and briefs
• Manage discovery, depositions, mediations, and court appearances
• Work directly with business-owner clients and provide strategic legal counsel
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active California Bar membership in good standing
• Minimum of 5 years of substantive litigation experience
• Demonstrated experience managing cases independently
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to prioritize multiple matters and meet deadlines
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and professional demeanor

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in employment, construction, professional liability, or business litigation
• Judicial clerkship experience
