Behavioral Health Technician - Rimrock AZ

Position Summary: Rimrock is a residential facility dedicated to providing support and guidance to residents in a therapeutic environment in our tranquil northern Arizona residential location. We are supporting them to achieve their goals and enhance their overall well-being. The Rimrock team works in collaboration with a treatment team in order to implement therapeutic programs and activities designed to promote social skills, emotional regulation and personal development in its resident.

Position Status:

  1. Full-time & Part-time
  2. Hourly
  3. Non-Exempt
  4. Salary Range: $39,520 – $49,920 DOE

Minimum qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  2. Behavioral Health experience (preferred)
  3. Must be at least 21 years of age
  4. Must have valid driver’s license and be insurable in Arizona
  5. Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check, OIG, ADHS, MVR, 6 panel drug test (we are safety sensitive since this role does drive) and TB test which is contingent upon hire.
  6. Must have or be able to obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card, CPR/First Aid Certification, CPI Certified, Food Handlers card and Emergency Safety Response training. (This cost is all covered by the company, but it's even better if you have it already.)
  7. Maintain all required annual training as assigned by leadership

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Ability to meet core competencies of a Behavioral Health Technician
  2. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with team members, parent/guardians, case managers, and clients.
  3. Must have a thorough working knowledge of redirection and de-escalation techniques.
  4. Must have the organizational sense and focus to complete a vast array of tasks
  5. Excellent documentation skills with attention to detail. Written Communication Competence
  6. Must be able to be formally trained in emergency safety response and have the capacity to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
  7. Must be versatile and able to work with all clients regardless age, gender, disability, and/or ethnicity.
  8. Demonstrate creative problem-solving skills sufficient to navigate the unique group dynamics present.
  9. Safely provide transportation using agency vehicles.
  10. Must adhere to HIPAA regulations and always maintain client confidentiality.
  11. Must uphold EmotiCare spirit of excellence in work with co-workers, clients, business partners, and in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Must have adequate judgment to make clinically sound decisions and minimize client risk while participating in Wellness services.
  2. Provides direct care services in accordance with the treatment plan.
  3. Direct support engaging with residents, providing emotional and practical support in individual and group settings.
  4. May provide assessments and therapeutic counseling based on completion of competency requirements.
  5. Behavioral monitoring by observing and documenting residents' behavior, progress and challenges, reporting any significant changes to the treatment team.
  6. Plan and implement therapeutic activities for clients taking in to account budget, age, and gender.
  7. Crisis intervention by responding to emergencies and crisis with appropriate interventions, ensuring safety and well-being of all residents.
  8. Engage clients, encourage positive peer interactions, redirect challenging behaviors as needed an encourage healthy socialization.
  9. Accurately complete all documentation including but not limited to cash log, activity log, medication logs, transportation log, and client case notes.
  10. Required to meet productivity expectations.
  11. Maintain a clean Emoticare facility and vehicle, complete laundry, dishes, and rudimentary house cleaning.
  12. Follows guidelines set for delivery of services according to program plan.
  13. Work positively with peers and follow through with supervisor directives.
  14. Uphold positive morale focusing on Emoticare's mission statement and be open to flexibility within the job role in order to meet our clients’ needs.
  15. Effectively supervise the self-administration of medication. Ensuring that medications are kept within a locked box when medication is not being administered.
  16. Provide all needed transportation for client.
  17. Bilingual Preferred
  18. Experience with at risk youth preferred.
  19. Must upkeep the following:
  20. Fingerprint clearance card
  21. CPR/First Aid certification
  22. Clear TB test
  23. Clear MVD Report
  24. Emergency safety response
  25. Fraud and Abuse, Driver Refresher, and Self-Administration of Medication trainings annually

Work environment:

  1. EmotiCare Rimrock residential facility.
  2. Client homes and community settings
  3. Vehicle
  4. Desk and admin work occasionally

Physical Requirements:

  1. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, driving, bending, reaching, and grasping
  2. Several hours using a computer per week.
  3. Lift and carry up to approximately 50 pounds.
  4. Able to drive safely, including 12 or 15 passenger vans.
  5. Able to endure summer heat for outside outings.
  6. Able to implement non-violent physical emergency safety response tactics if a client presents a danger to self or others.
  7. Able to visually observe client behavior.
  8. Able to hear, understand, and interpret staff and client behavior.
  9. Able to communicate verbally and in writing.
