Legal Secretary – Workers’ Compensation

A busy and dynamic law firm specializing in workers’ compensation is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to support our high-volume practice. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional client service.

Key Qualifications

• Proficiency with dictation tools, legal terminology, court forms, and procedures.

• Ability to interpret and work with medical terminology and related timelines.

• Strong typing skills (60+ wpm with accuracy).

• Experience managing heavy workloads and multiple competing deadlines.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and track numerous tasks efficiently.

• Familiarity with legal filings, service, and calendaring procedures.

• Strong client service skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

• Experience preparing and filing Petitions, Liens, DORs, and drafting Objections.

• Knowledge of AME/PQME processes and reviewing medical reports.

• Experience with EAMS/WCAB procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare case files for depositions, MSCs, PC hearings, and trials.

• Assist with Med-Legal processes and ensure all documentation is properly organized and filed.

• Maintain accurate calendars, deadlines, and case-related workflows.

• Provide general litigation support within the workers’ compensation framework.

Position Details

• Job Type: Temporary to Possible Perm

• Compensation: $25 – $30 per hour

• Benefits:

• Preferred Experience: At least 1 year in workers’ compensation law

Working Conditions:

• May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment.
• The ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Use of computers and technology.
