Software Engineer (Backend & AI Infrastructure)

We have invented a better way to do research: AI-powered user interviews.

Our platform is used by Fortune 500 companies and global tech leaders to achieve deeper, qualitative insights about their users at unprecedented speed and scale. The research industry is massive (>$140B and growing) and ripe for disruption. While incumbents remain slow and burdened by high-cost services, we are capturing the market with a category-defining product.

We are a tight-knit team of 30 based in San Francisco’s Financial District. Following a breakout year where our business grew 8x , we recently closed a $30M Series B in December 2025—less than six months after our Series A. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-growth startup backed by top Silicon Valley investors as we set the new standard for understanding people.

What you will do:

• Strategic Collaboration: Partner closely with the CTO and CEO on strategic technical decisions and product direction.
• Architecture & Development: Design, develop, and optimize backend services, APIs, and real-time data processing infrastructure.
• AI Innovation: Implement and refine our in-house Large Language Model (LLM) and real-time interview technology.
• End-to-End Ownership: Lead projects from initial conception through production deployment, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• User Feedback Loop: Interface directly with users to gather feedback, understand pain points, and continuously improve our core product.

• Experience: 3+ years of software engineering experience building production-grade backend systems.
• Technical Stack: Strong proficiency with Python and Django , including experience building robust APIs.
• Data Expertise: Extensive knowledge of SQL databases (Postgres preferred).
• Cloud Infrastructure: Experience deploying and managing services on AWS .

Bonus points for:

• Familiarity with WebRTC , real-time data streaming, or AI/ML infrastructure.

• Founder Collaboration: Daily collaboration with founders, shaping the core product vision.
• Global Impact: Exposure to and collaboration with design and research leaders at world-class brands.
• Competitive Compensation: A package including a salary of $160K – $300K plus Equity . Actual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set and depth of experience.
