Barista

Infuse Hospitality, part of the Phoenix3 Collective portfolio, is seeking a proactive, friendly, and detail-oriented Barista to serve as the welcoming face of our café and deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Location - Tapestry Bistro & Bar centered in the San Francisco Design Center - 101 Henry Adams Street, San Francisco, CA 94103.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about hospitality, coffee, energized by fast-paced service, and committed to creating memorable moments for every guest.

What You’ll Do

1. Deliver outstanding hospitality and ensure every guest experience is warm, efficient, and memorable
2. Accurately take and input orders into the POS system
3. Prepare espresso beverages and other menu items to the highest quality and presentation standards
4. Maintain strong knowledge of menu offerings, ingredients, and brewing techniques to confidently answer guest questions and make recommendations
5. Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and related equipment safely and efficiently
6. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming café environment
7. Merchandise display food items attractively and according to brand standards
8. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols
9. Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies to support seamless daily operations.

Core Responsibilities

Beverage Preparation & Service

1. Prepare high-quality espresso, coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines
2. Ensure consistent taste, temperature, and quality of all beverages
3. Customize drinks to meet guest preferences and dietary needs

Customer Service

1. Greet and engage guests warmly and professionally
2. Take accurate orders and provide recommendations when appropriate
3. Maintain a clean, inviting, and organized service area
4. Handle guest concerns or complaints promptly, escalating when necessary

Operational Efficiency

1. Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other beverage equipment safely and efficiently
2. Maintain proper stock of coffee, milk, syrups, and supplies for smooth service
3. Clean and sanitize equipment, counters, and service areas throughout the shift
4. Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and end-of-day reconciliation

Teamwork & Communication

1. Collaborate effectively with fellow baristas, kitchen staff, and FOH team members
2. Communicate clearly regarding inventory needs, equipment issues, and service priorities
3. Support training and development of new team members as needed

Health, Safety & Compliance

1. Must have a valid Food Handler’s Card
2. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines
3. Adhere to company policies regarding hygiene, dress code, and professional conduct

Continuous Improvement

1. Stay informed on new beverage trends and techniques
2. Suggest process improvements to enhance guest experience and operational efficiency.

What You Bring

1. Previous barista experience required
2. Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques; latte art experience a plus
3. Familiarity with Square POS preferred
4. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
6. Knowledge of food safety and proper handling procedures
7. Excellent communication skills
8. A genuine passion for coffee and eagerness to continue learning
9. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
10. Ability to commute to San Francisco, CA 94158 or relocate prior to start date
