Job Description

A fast-growing technology company is seeking a Senior Python Developer to build and scale backend systems that power enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate has deep experience designing production-ready APIs, strong system design skills, and hands-on experience integrating LLMs and agent-based GenAI solutions. This role is highly collaborative and suited for someone who enjoys mentoring others and experimenting in a startup environment.

• Develop backend Python applications and enterprise-grade business logic

• Build and maintain scalable, robust software architecture

• Integrate and call LLMs (GPT, Gemini, etc.) inside applications

• Use agent-based GenAI approaches to solve problems

• Optimize system performance and data retrieval (structured + unstructured sources)

• Extract and process data from documents (pandas, parsing)

• Collaborate closely with product managers, domain experts, and a 30-person dev team

• Mentor junior developers and uphold clean code standards

• Experiment with new tools, techniques, and emerging tech in a startup environment

Skills and Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience building backend systems using Python

• Ability to deliver production-ready APIs and backend services

• Strong grasp of system design concepts, including service architecture and database modeling

• Experience using Git in a collaborative engineering environment

• Comfortable working in Linux-based environments and using the command line for development and debugging

• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., modern AI coding IDEs) while maintaining clean, readable, and maintainable code - Hands-on experience integrating large language models into applications via APIs or SDKs

• Familiarity with GitKraken or similar Git visualization/workflow tools

• Exposure to agent-based systems, model evaluation, fine-tuning, or broader machine learning workflows

• Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Azure Cosmos DB

• Cloud experience in Azure, especially with data or search-related services (Azure AI Search a plus)

• Background working in regulated or data-sensitive domains such as finance, taxation, or risk management

• Experience in early-stage or fast-moving product development environments

• Advanced degree in computer science, data, mathematics, AI, or equivalent professional experience
