About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in La Verne, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in La Verne, CA
• Schedule: 3 sessions per week 1 hour and 15 minutes
• Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

• Extensive experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, particularly those who are nonverbal and demonstrate significant attention-related behaviors.
• Credentialed teacher required, with a strong background in special education or a related field.
• Proven ability to design and implement highly individualized lesson plans aligned with IEP goals, particularly at early developmental (Pre-K) levels.
• Deep understanding of foundational literacy instruction, including phonemic awareness, letter recognition, and early comprehension strategies.
• Strong background in teaching foundational math concepts such as number sense, counting, and basic operations.
• Experience using structured teaching approaches, visual supports, and hands-on learning materials for engagement and retention.
• Exceptional patience, adaptability, and behavior management skills, with the ability to provide frequent redirection and reinforcement.
• Strong assessment skills, including the ability to conduct academic evaluations and translate results into targeted instructional plans.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with families and educational teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct an initial academic assessment to determine current skill levels and guide individualized goal-setting for the tutoring program.
• Provide intensive, one-on-one instruction in foundational literacy skills, including letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and early comprehension.
• Deliver individualized math instruction focused on number sense, counting, and simple operations at a Pre-K level.
• Design and implement structured, predictable lessons broken into short, engaging segments to support attention and learning.
• Utilize visual supports, modeling, and hands-on materials to align with the student’s strong visual learning style.
• Incorporate consistent routines and evidence-based strategies to improve focus, engagement, and skill acquisition.
• Apply positive reinforcement techniques and frequent redirection to manage attention-related behaviors effectively.
• Continuously adapt instruction, pacing, and materials based on student responsiveness and progress.
• Align all instruction with IEP goals and collaborate with caregivers or other professionals as needed.
• Provide regular updates on student progress, assessment findings, and instructional strategies.
