Bin Delivery Driver

Job description:

Position Summary
Bin Delivery Drivers will safely and efficiently operate heavy-duty trucks and is responsible for the delivery and/or removal of waste or recycling containers to customers. The ideal candidate will be hard-working and enthusiastic, with an acceptable driving record and the ability to pass regular drug screenings, pre-employment physical and background checks.
Work Environment and Expectations

• This is a full time, hourly position

• Schedule is Monday – Friday starting at 5 a.m.

• Shifts are typically 10 am

• Starting pay is $20-$24 per hour

Qualifications

• Hold a current Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with an airbrake endorsement.

• 6 months of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent military driving.

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.

• Ability to work independently and on a team.

• Strong customer service skills

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates vehicle by Atlas Disposal Industries safety rules and operating procedures, Occupational and Safety Health Act, Department of Transportation requirements, and all local, municipal, state, and federal laws.

• Performs pre-and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles and documents checks on standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report.).

• Operates computerized mobile tablet to track progress on route, start and complete stops, and enters notes and landfill information.

• Works closely with Dispatch & Supervisors to improve route efficiencies, communicate incidents, service interruptions, or customer requests.

• Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair or replacement.

• Ensures the size and number of containers on the route reconciles to the service level listed on the service list.
