PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHER

Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of a Public Safety Dispatch Supervisor I, duties will include, but are not limited to; operate radio console; answer 9-1-1 calls, assist allied agencies, and provide exceptional service to the general public; document information using computer-aided dispatch (CAD), operate telephone system, and facilitate requests for officers.

Working Conditions

RCC maintains 15 dispatchers and utilizes the 3/12 AWW with seniority shift and vacation sign-ups.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) a Drug Screening be passed prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.

• This position requires the ability to type at a minimum speed designated on the Classification Specifications (link available in the minimum requirements section). • Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified before appointment. To satisfy the minimum qualification requirement with education, you must include your unofficial transcript(s)/diploma for initial review.
