Human Resources Coordinator - FT

REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Human Resources Department
SAFETY SENSITIVE: LOW – This position is not subject to pre-employment physical or drug and alcohol screening The starting wage for this position is $20 per hour. ** This position is not eligible for remote work. Regular on-site attendance is required.** CHARACTERISTICS OF THE JOB : This position is primarily administrative and responsibility for the coordination of day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department functions and duties. PROVIDES SUPERVISION TO : None RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides administrative support for Human Resources Department. Provides general support to HR team on projects and daily activities.
- Support new hire orientation process, including tracking of and ensuring completion of all orientation requirements.
- Coordinate performance evaluation schedule, including tracking completion of evaluations, communicating with managers as needed.
- Support departmental staff in recruitment efforts, as needed.
- Facilitate pre-hire process to include but not limited to; data entry of paper applications into applicant tracking system, may conduct candidate reference checks, and coordinate pre-employment screenings and background checks.
- Assist in the administration of employee recognition programs.
- Complete Personnel, Insurance, and I-9 File Audits as assigned.
- Distribute the department and employee information and forms as assigned. Follow-up to ensure necessary paperwork is returned and properly completed.
- Ensure adequate supply of brochures, materials, and office supplies; coordinate ordering in accordance with agency policy.
- Maintain inventory of agency owned equipment utilized for accommodations
- Maintain personnel and medical records ensuring timely and accurate records. Maintain filing storage room in an organized manner and coordinate annual purging of records in accordance with the agency record retention policy.
- Serve as resource to employees and managers by directing all questions or inquiries to the appropriate human resource staff member.
- Assist in development of various human resources processes and procedures.
- Adherent to all organizational policies and procedures.
- Conduct self in a professional and ethical manner. Maintain unquestionable confidentiality of all data and Human Resource related matters.
- Develop knowledge of legal requirements and governmental reporting regulations that affect the Human Resources functions.
- Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare recommendations on assigned projects and tasks.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- Minimum of one-year administrative experience in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment, preferably in a Human Resources department.
- Solid understanding of needs of human resources specifically as it pertains to maintaining confidentiality, using good judgment in dealing with employees and personnel documentation, and providing accurate information.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to understand, speak and be understood in English. Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with internal employees and external contacts.
- Ability to work under general supervision, effectively organize multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Position promotable to specialized positions in Human Resources with demonstration of mastery of this position, while also taking on new responsibilities to increase knowledge of HR functional areas. Training and/or certifications may be required; and any promotion is based on business needs.
