Litigation Paralegal
Round Hill Search is working with a reputable boutique firm in the Los Angeles area that is seeking a Litigation Paralegal with 5+ years of experience to work on a dedicated case team, handling matters from inception through trial. The ideal candidate will have experience with civil litigation, personal injury, and toxic torts.
Responsibilities:
- Manage pre-trial workup, create trial binders, and send documents to expert witnesses.
- Ordering medical records and preparing subpoenas.
- Setting and calendaring depositions, preparing deposition notices, and arranging for court reporters.
- Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation, including preparing pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
- Conduct factual and legal research to support case strategies and prepare case summaries.
- Manage and organize case files, discovery materials, and document production.
- Draft and format legal documents, correspondence, and memoranda.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, court appearances, and client meetings.
- Assist with trial preparation, including creating trial binders, exhibits, and witness materials.
- Review and summarize deposition transcripts, discovery responses, and other case materials.
- Maintain case calendars and track key deadlines to ensure timely filings.
- Conduct e-discovery and document review, utilizing relevant litigation support software.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and opposing counsel as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Must have an ABA-approved paralegal certificate.
- Five+ years of experience in litigation, preferably in civil litigation, personal injury, and toxic torts.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules,
- Experience in commercial litigation, mass torts, or trial support.
- Strong understanding of court filing procedures, both electronic and in-person.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to proofread and cite-check documents is required.
- Must have strong knowledge of all phases of discovery.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines.
- Solid communication and time management skills are essential.
- Must be detail-oriented and highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and tasks across several case-related matters.
- Familiarity with programs such as Summation, CaseMap, iManage, and Trial Director preferred.
Salary:
$85,000 - 90,000, depending on experience.
