Project Cost Estimator
The Greenridge Group is a prime contractor and consulting firm specializing in Project and Construction Management for major public-sector agencies.
We are seeking a Project Cost Estimator to prepare detailed independent cost estimates for construction projects and change orders, review contractor proposals and claims, and support price negotiations. This role is well suited for experienced estimators with a strong understanding of construction costs, scopes of work, and public-sector project delivery.
Salary Range: $175K-$185K/Year - Dependent on Candidate's Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare preliminary and final independent detailed cost estimates for JOC and formal construction contracts.
- Support price negotiations related to change orders and contractor proposals.
- Prepare claim analyses and cost estimates .
- Develop detailed construction cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, sketches, quantities, and square footage.
- Review contractor claims and proposals for accuracy, scope alignment, and cost accountability.
- Compare independent cost estimates against contractor proposals to identify variances.
- Develop scopes of work based on RFI/RFC responses and estimate associated costs independent of contractor input.
- Perform related estimating and cost analysis duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of professional construction cost estimating experience , preferably on facilities or school construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of local labor and material costs .
- Extensive experience estimating change order scopes of work .
Skills
- Ability to analyze and compare contractor proposals against independent estimates.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture , or a related field.
