Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Valid State License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and LA City Fire Card Must-Have: Strong ICU nursing experience; ability to float within skillset Description: Looking for an ICU RN to work in a progressive care unit. Ratios: 1 nurse to 3 patients. First-time travelers are accepted. Weekends are required, every other weekend. Floating is required within skillset. No on-call requirement. Local candidates are accepted; pending licenses are not accepted. Requests for time off must be included at the time of submission. The facility type is an acute care hospital with a total of 377 staffed beds. Scrub color is flexible. Charting is done using Epic. Daily census averages 280 patients, with 34 patient rooms. Support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, myocardial infarction, stroke, COVID, congestive heart failure, and trauma. Required skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, chest tube management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, IV management, and telemetry monitoring. The unit requires true ICU level nurses due to the complexity of patient care. All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state. Travelers' refusal to float may result in termination of assignment. If required for the assignment, the facility will supply communication devices needed to perform duties. Modules are non-billable and are completed pre-start and annually. Completion of modules is self-reported and recorded in the facility's transcript system. References from two individuals covering at least one year of experience within the last three years are required.
