Overnight ER Veterinarian/Relief Veterinarian

We are a 24/7 veterinary hospital seeking a dedicated and compassionate Overnight Emergency Veterinarian or Relief Veterinarian to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, supportive environment with a skilled technical staff and a diverse caseload.

Available Shifts:

• Overnight shifts (typically 10:00 PM – 9:00 AM or similar).
• Flexible scheduling available for relief veterinarians.
• Weekend and holiday availability preferred.
  
  

Position Overview

As an Overnight ER Veterinarian, you will be responsible for providing high-quality emergency and critical care to patients during overnight hours. You will work closely with experienced technicians and support staff to deliver efficient and compassionate medical care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide emergency and urgent care to small animal patients.
• Perform physical exams, diagnostics, and develop treatment plans.
• Interpret radiographs, lab results, and diagnostic tests.
• Perform emergency and soft tissue surgical procedures as needed.
• Oversee and collaborate with veterinary technicians and assistants.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and prognoses.
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.

Qualifications:

• DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
• Active California veterinary license (or ability to obtain).
• Experience in emergency medicine preferred, but not required.
• Strong diagnostic, surgical, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team-oriented with a strong work ethic.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with emergency/critical care cases.
• Proficiency in radiology and ultrasound interpretation.
• Comfort with emergency surgical procedures.
• Strong decision-making and multitasking abilities.
• Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
