Collins Aerospace in Fairfield, CA is excited to announce an opportunity for a Test Technician II . Under the direction of the Test Operations Supervisor, this role involves conducting both destructive and non-destructive testing on energetic devices, ensuring they meet our customers' stringent specifications. You are expected to actively participate in the safety program and be mindful of your safety and the safety of others. You are expected to complete all safety training in a timely manner.

The work schedule is:

  • Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Overtime available and/or mandatory on a business need basis

What You Will Do

  • Testing Set-up, performance, and evaluation under the guidance of a senior technician.
  • Product performance measurement and data collections.
  • Equipment Preventative maintenance and calibration.
  • Testing Equipment Troubleshooting and Repair
  • Occasionally support failure investigations and developmental testing.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • HS diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2 year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) access.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with ordnance products and test instrumentation/electronics.
  • Ability to read, understand, and redline testing procedures.
  • Proficiency in preparing data sheets and using formulas in Excel and other software.
  • Strong mechanical skills with knowledge of hand tools and measurement devices (e.g., calipers, micrometers, depth gauges).
  • Familiarity with test equipment (e.g., power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters).
  • Knowledge of electronics, instrumentation, and the ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • The salary range for this role is $40,691 to $76,318, however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
