Medical Records Specialist

TekSystems is currently hiring for a Medical Records Specialist in the San Diego, CA area!

MUST HAVE: 1-3 years of medical records experience, MUST have EPIC experience!

Description

Ensures accurate, regulatory and legally compliant patient health records and requests. Responsibilities include reviewing

the comprehensive patient medical record for accuracy and timeliness of documentation in the electronic health record.

Prepares and analyzes requested information for internal and external entities. Works closely with medical staff, attorneys

and other third party requestors to provide reports. Responsible for validating information in the work queue and making

corrections including incomplete documentation, missing information for coding/billing, and timeliness of patient requested

information.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in the healthcare Acute Care setting, customer service skills, knowledge of Health Information Management policies and procedure, Registered Health Information Management Technician (RHIT) or education in Health Information Management, Previous skills in Release of Patient Information, Knowledge of HIPAA.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: Experience healthcare/medical office environment to include working

with an EHR and/or Release of Patient Information. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication

and customer service skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills; innovative with ability to identify and solve

problems. Able to adapt, prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to compile data for internal and external reporting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
