We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud QA Engineer to join our growing QA team. In this role, you will act as the testing owner for cloud service projects or modules, leading testing efforts and ensuring high-quality delivery for cloud systems supporting TP-Link’s networking and smart home ecosystem.
You will work closely with R&D engineers and QA teams to validate the functionality, reliability, and scalability of cloud systems. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud architectures, distributed systems, and microservices environments, as well as the ability to design effective testing strategies and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities:
- Act as the testing owner for assigned cloud service projects or modules, ensuring testing quality and delivery.
- Design testing strategies and define appropriate test coverage based on system architecture and feature changes.
- Analyze cloud service architecture and identify potential quality risks in microservices-based systems.
- Lead the execution of testing activities and coordinate with developers to resolve complex system issues.
- Develop and improve cloud testing frameworks, automation tools, and CI/CD testing integration.
- Conduct performance, scalability, and reliability testing for distributed backend services.
- Investigate production issues, reproduce defects, and contribute to root cause analysis.
- Provide technical guidance to junior QA engineers and support their technical growth.
- Continuously explore new testing methodologies and technologies to improve testing efficiency and product quality.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud service testing, backend system testing, or related software engineering roles.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices-based cloud architectures, with the ability to understand service interactions and identify testing risks.
- Experience working with containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working with AWS cloud services or similar cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with backend technologies such as MySQL, MongoDB, Kafka, or similar middleware.
- Proficiency in Python or Java for automation scripting or test tooling development.
- Hands-on experience with performance, scalability, and reliability testing.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex distributed systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering teams.
Additional Skills (Preferred, But Not Required):
- Experience leading testing efforts for complex projects or modules.
- Experience with IoT cloud platforms or smart home ecosystems.
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and security basics.
- Experience exploring or applying AI-assisted tools to improve testing efficiency, automation, or defect analysis.
- The ability to evaluate and promote practical AI adoption within QA workflows is a strong plus.
- Bilingual in Mandarin and English is a plus.

Salary Range: $135,000 - $170,000
