About the Position
Postpartum Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: State License required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Epic charting system experience preferred Previous charge experience Description: The staff nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who serves as the patient's primary nurse. Responsible and accountable for the overall management of nursing care provided. Assures competent, compassionate, and cost-effective patient care from admission to discharge. Ensures the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients. Performs disease prevention and restorative measures. Responds to medical and environmental emergencies. Engages in discharge teaching to parents. Utilizes skills in neonatal assessments and cares for postpartum patients. Participates in the administration of medications and therapies. Maintains a patient ratio that promotes effective and safe nursing care.
