Drone (UAS) Deployment Engineer - Nightingale Security - Newark, CA / New York City, NY

Nightingale Security is an industry leader in deploying autonomous drone systems used to protect critical infrastructure for companies, private properties, law enforcement and fire protection applications. Our autonomous perimeter security system features networked base stations and mission-ready drones which can be airborne in less than 15 seconds. The system is driven by our Mission Manager software, which equips operators with a real-time decision support system to help keep their facilities safe.

We are looking for someone to join our Deployment Team as a Deployment Engineer. Our Deployment Team travels to customer sites and helps install and provision the system and train the on-site staff to utilize it. The role will require travel from 50 - 75% of the time, both in the continental US and internationally. The ideal candidate will have experience operating UAS, installing or maintaining industrial machinery, and some familiarity with provisioning software / utilizing high tech devices. There will be plenty of interaction with our end customers, so strong communication skills are also a must. As this role centers around deploying a UAS system any knowledge of FAA and other regulatory body rules and regulations are greatly helpful.

Job Duties:
Develop deep hardware, software, and flight operations product knowledge
Interface with end users to prepare on-site infrastructure for deployment in advance of product installation
Execute the install and provisioning of the system
Train end users on best practices for utilizing the system and regulations
Assist in customer support efforts

Requirements:
FAA part 107 Cert or the ability to acquire one
Strong communication skills - it's a breeze for you to relate to customers, team members, executives, etc
Problem solver - rarely do things go perfectly smooth, but you are always ready to handle those challenges and come to a creative solution
Leadership skills - you are not afraid to take the initiative when you see an issue, a gap, or an inefficiency.
Ability to stay flexible and communicate when in need of support or guidance - we are a fast paced company and you will be given a lot of responsibility and wear many hats.
Technically adept - maybe you can't write your own code or design your own robot, but you get the basic concepts that underpin the technology and can help troubleshoot when necessary.
Passionate about the robotics industry, aviation, and/or future technology.
Organization and professional work ethic.

Additional Qualifications:
Familiarity with FAA regulations
FAA 107 or any other FAA ratings
UAS system experience or knowledge
Ability to travel as needed

Commitment: This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position.
