The Board of Chiropractic Examiners (BCE) is seeking an Office Technician (Typing) to provide public assistance and clerical support to BCE's Enforcement Unit. The position is responsible for handling all complaint intake activities, processing routine and standard cases, coordinating expert review services, and assisting with petition hearing preparations.

Working Conditions
Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview. However, they must reside in the State of California once they are hired and start working.
The Office Technician (Typing) works 40 hours per week in an office setting with artificial light and temperature control. Daily access to and use of a personal computer, telephone, copy machine, and scanner are essential. Sitting and standing requirements are consistent with office work. This position requires occasional movement around the office, occasional bending and stooping to retrieve files, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period as outlined on "Section 2113 - Personal Leave Program (PLP)" of the CalHR Manual. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.
Special Requirements
Typing Certificate:
The Office Technician (Typing) is required to type at a minimum speed of 40 words per minute and must obtain a valid typing certificate to be hired for this position.
Criminal Offender Record Information:Title 11, section 703(d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). Pursuant to this requirement, applicants for this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring. In accordance with DCA's (CORI) procedures, clearance shall be maintained while employed in a CORI-designated position. Additionally, the incumbent routinely works with sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of documents and topics pertaining to individuals or to sensitive program matters at all times.

The Office Technician (Typing) must possess effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to: use good judgment in decision-making; exercise creativity in problem identification and resolution; be flexible under changing priorities and deadlines; manage time and resources efficiently; work collaboratively with BCE staff; maintain consistent, regular, and punctual attendance; and be responsive to the needs of BCE management.
