Job Summary
We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as a Credentialing Specialist. You will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of the provider credentialing process, including initial appointments, reappointments, credential audits, and clinical privileging for Medical Staff, Allied Health Professionals, and other providers in compliance with corporate policies, hospital bylaws, and regulatory requirements.
Job Description
- Facilitate provider credentialing and re-credentialing processes, including verification of qualifications, experience, licensure, and certifications.
- Manage clinical privileging for Medical Staff and Allied Health Professionals in accordance with hospital bylaws and corporate policies.
- Conduct primary source verification for new and existing providers to ensure accuracy and due diligence.
- Oversee license renewals, ensuring all physician licenses and certifications remain active and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and update physician and provider files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and up to date.
- Utilize MDStaff software and other credentialing tools to process applications, monitor status/alerts, and generate reports.
- Ensure compliance with credentialing standards and maintain consistency in database entry for accurate reporting and audits.
- Assist with credentialing audits and respond to requests from accrediting and regulatory agencies.
- Provide back-up credential coverage for other members of the credentialing team as needed.
- Stay current with laws, regulations, and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, NCQA, CMS, DOH) related to credentialing and privileging.
Skills Required
- Healthcare field experience with credentialing/auditing – Required
- Strong knowledge of credentialing standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices
- Proficiency in MDStaff credentialing software or similar systems
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with providers, staff, and regulatory agencies
Education/Training/Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree- Required
Additional Requirements
- Shift Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate
- $30.00 per hour
