Sr. Reliability Engineer
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and monitor multiple reliability projects
- Provide reliability risk assessments to cross-functional teams and leadership
- Create and implement test plans to mitigate risks in new product designs
- Facilitate multidisciplinary FMEA discussions to evaluate technical risk
- Record, organize, and analyze large sets of detailed test data
- Troubleshoot instrument failures and direct root cause investigations
- Guide corrective action identification, implementation, and validation
- Provide engineering input for new designs to ensure reliable, robust products
- Support lab testing (30%), field failure review/solutions (40%), and cost-reduction/sustaining work (30%)
Experience Required
- 5–10 years overall
- Minimum 5 years of reliability engineering experience (or equivalent experimental/statistical testing experience); 2 years may be substituted with an advanced engineering degree
Skills & Certifications
- Basic statistical analysis for interpreting test data
- Reliability analysis and reliability engineering fundamentals (life predictions, root cause analysis, environmental/accelerated testing)
- Strong communication skills
- Nice to have: DFMEA, electronics hardware design, fluidics, optics, test automation (LabView, Arduino)
- Nice to have: Six Sigma tools, design of experiments, data tools (Minitab, MATLAB, JMP, R)
Eligibilities & qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering or related discipline required
- Willingness to work in a BSL2 lab and prepare blood samples for testing (training provided)
- Ability to work onsite 5 days/week in Milpitas, CA
- No drug screening required
