About this Role:
The role of the Check Processor is to assist with general duties of the Cash Receipts team and provide a full range of activities, clerical and repetitious, in nature relating to the team members. This position provides clerical and technical accounting support to the entire Cash Receipt’s team in various duties; Assist in mail processing, batching, and taping; pulling Remote Processing System (RPS) reports, obtaining deposit Fiscal coding; and reviewing batches and routing backups back to program units; research unidentified checks, mail back stale dated checks, and request for additional supporting documents to deposit checks; assist in posting receipts deposits in the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) system.

Working Conditions

Statement of Qualifications Requirement Section
Applicants must include a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for this recruitment. The SOQ is a narrative discussion, not a cover letter, prepared by the applicant describing how their skills, knowledge, abilities, education, training, and experience, qualify them for the position. The SOQ serves as documentation of the applicant’s ability to present information clearly and provide DHCS additional information about their experience and qualifications concisely in writing. The SOQ must be typed, numbered, no more than two pages in length, in Arial font size 12, with 1” margins, single-spaced, including your first and last name at the top right corner of the page.

Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025 agreement
Effective July 1, 2025, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the temporary Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each employee receive a temporary reduction in pay in exchange for PLP 2025 leave credits. The temporary salary reduction percentage and the number of PLP 2025 leave credits are based on the position’s associated bargaining unit. Please note, the salary posted reflects a full-time schedule; however, this position is part-time. If selected, the team member will be compensated hourly based on actual hours worked. Student Assistants may not exceed 1,500 hours of work within 12 months from their first date of employment.
