Listed 15 April 2026A multicultural Bay Area family seeks a bilingual Mandarin/English private educator and governess for three children under four, in a long-term full-time role that combines genuine Montessori education with warm, attentive daily care.
This is an opportunity for a Montessori-trained educator to apply their philosophy in its purest form — a 1:1 prepared environment, full curriculum autonomy, and the freedom to follow the child without the constraints of a classroom setting. Alongside the educational role, you will be a consistent, nurturing presence in the children's daily lives, supporting their independence, emotional development, and secure attachment. The family travels domestically every month and internationally several times a year, treating each new culture and environment as an extension of the prepared environment.
The role is W-2 employment with compensation of $120,000–$150,000 depending on experience, plus all travel expenses covered and relocation assistance available for candidates outside the Bay Area.
Native Mandarin and fluent English are required. The ideal candidate holds an AMI or AMS diploma (Primary or Early Childhood), has experience across infant through lower elementary ages, and is comfortable operating as an educator and caregiver during extended travel.
The family is also exploring the longer-term possibility of building a small Mandarin-immersion microschool, making this a rare opportunity to help shape something meaningful from the ground up.
