As the General Manager , you will be responsible for overseeing all restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest service, managing staff performance, and driving revenue and profitability. You will be the face of the restaurant and play a pivotal role in its day-to-day and long-term success.

Compensation: From $85k to $90k - DOE

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Leadership & Staff Management

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop all restaurant staff including front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) teams.

  • Create and manage staff schedules to ensure proper coverage while controlling labor costs.

  • Conduct regular team meetings, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as necessary.

  • Promote a positive work environment that values teamwork, accountability, and respect.

  • Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service and professionalism.

Operations & Service Excellence

  • Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and consistency in service, food quality, and cleanliness.

  • Ensure adherence to company standards, policies, and procedures at all times.

  • Implement service and hospitality best practices to improve guest satisfaction and reduce wait times.

  • Coordinate with kitchen management to maintain menu quality, portion control, and food presentation.

Financial & Administrative

  • Manage all financial aspects of the restaurant including budgeting, payroll, cash handling, and vendor payments.

  • Analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial statements and performance metrics (P&L, labor %, food costs, etc.).

  • Implement cost-control measures without compromising quality or service.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits of supplies and equipment.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws including California health department regulations, OSHA standards, and labor laws.

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for licenses, permits, and employee certifications.

  • Lead regular safety and sanitation training for all staff members.

  • Respond quickly and professionally to inspections and resolve any issues or violations.

Customer Service & Guest Relations

  • Interact with guests regularly to ensure satisfaction, resolve complaints, and solicit feedback.

  • Handle difficult or sensitive customer situations calmly and effectively.

  • Monitor online reviews and customer feedback platforms, responding promptly to concerns or praise.

  • Develop and implement customer service protocols to enhance the guest experience.

Marketing & Community Engagement

  • Collaborate with marketing team or independently develop local store marketing plans and promotions.

  • Engage with local communities, events, and organizations to drive brand awareness and build relationships.

  • Use social media and digital platforms to promote specials, events, and achievements.

  • Track the success of promotions and adjust strategies to maximize ROI.

Technology & Systems

  • Maintain point-of-sale (POS) systems and ensure proper use by staff.

  • Leverage management tools (e.g., scheduling software, inventory systems) to optimize operations.

  • Ensure data privacy and cybersecurity practices are followed, especially with customer and employee information.
