The Clinician provides comprehensive mental health services to students, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of emotional and behavioral issues. This role involves delivering individual and group rehab, developing and implementing personalized treatment plans, and working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' well-being and academic success. The Clinician plays a critical role in promoting a safe and supportive school environment, addressing students' mental health needs, and fostering their overall development.

Qualifications:

1. Master of Arts or Master of Science degree from an accredited graduate program with major in Social Work, Counseling, or other related degree required. These degrees must be license eligible (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC).
2. BBS registration, licenses, credentials or like certifications must remain active and valid with their governing entity, if applicable
3. One year of experience working with children preferred.
4. Knowledge of community resources preferred.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Excel, Word.
6. Bilingual preferred.
7. A valid California driver’s license is required of staff who have regular driving duties and the driving record must meet the requirements of their position and be approved by the agency’s insurance company.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Certifications must remain active and valid with their governing entity, if applicable.
2. Physical capability to restrain children, lift over 20 pounds, and engage in physical activity including various sports, sitting, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, reaching, etc.
3. Ability to communicate ideas in oral and written form.
4. Protect and honor individual integrity through confidentiality.
5. Ability to work in a harmonious manner with subordinates, supervisors, and others.
6. Ability to instruct in group and individual settings.
7. Ability to work effectively with cultural/ethnic diversity.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide direct clinical services to clients.
2. Utilize program specific screening tools, providing admission assessment and treatment planning for clients.
3. Keep comprehensive clinical records that meet standards of the agency, The Joint Commission and contract.
4. Collaborate with program staff, referring agency or other community agencies working with the client to coordinate treatment.
5. Must implement program goals and objectives to meet and maintain contractual requirements and productivity.
6. Effectively navigate and utilize all required electronic health records (EHR).
7. Effectively communicate with clients with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to teach life domain skills and adhere to principles of normalization.
8. Participate in scheduled peer review.
9. Responsible for preventing and controlling infection.
10. Responsible for maintaining a culture of quality and safety.
11. Effectively use de-escalation skills and techniques for crisis prevention.
12. Properly administer the C-SSRS to help prevent suicide.
13. Effectively use Therapeutic Crisis Intervention techniques for crisis prevention and/or intervention.
14. Be available to milieu staff in regard to answering question and dealing with crises.

Other:

1. Attend all required meetings and trainings.
2. Report any suspected child or dependent adult/elder abuse or neglect immediately to direct supervisor or utilize the chain of command if supervisor is unavailable.
3. Report any client imminent danger to self or to others or gravely disabled immediately to direct supervisor or utilize the chain of command if supervisor is unavailable.
4. Other duties as assigned.
