What You'll Do

• 
  

  Lead the way: Drive the development, maintenance, and refinement of risk strategy frameworks and complex rules to achieve ambitious business goals.



• 
  

  Be a data detective: Use advanced analytics and data science techniques to solve complex business problems. This includes building sophisticated SQL/Python scripts, interpreting results, and influencing decision-making with your findings.



• 
  

  Collaborate and create: Partner with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and operations, to identify new opportunities, establish business requirements, and guide the execution of strategies across the customer lifecycle.



• 
  

  Build powerful tools: Develop flexible performance dashboards and monitoring tools using platforms like Tableau to provide clear, actionable insights to a variety of audiences.



• 
  

  Stay ahead of the curve: Identify and execute new opportunities to optimize processes and proactively detect and respond to evolving risk trends.



• 
  

  Mentor and grow: Help mentor and support junior team members to help them achieve their goals.

What We're Looking For

• 
  

  Proven experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in fraud or credit risk strategy within the fintech, e-commerce, or online payments industry.



• 
  

  Technical expertise: Proficiency in SQL and Python, with a strong ability to work with large, complex datasets and leverage data science libraries.



• 
  

  Analytical mindset: Demonstrated ability to use statistics and data science to solve complex, ambiguous problems and drive data-driven decisions.



• 
  

  Exceptional communication: Ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex results to both technical experts and business leaders.



• 
  

  Hands-on experience: Direct experience with developing and deploying data-driven and automated monitoring rules, and the ability to find and recommend enhancements for existing processes.

Bonus Points

• 
  

  Experience in experimental design and data/control governance.



• 
  

  Knowledge of fraud typologies, such as onboarding fraud/abuse.



• 
  

  Experience with customer management or collections strategies for credit products like revolving credit cards or merchant cash advances.

The estimated salary range for this role is noted below for our San Jose based role. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.

San Jose pay range

$126,900 - $151,800 USD

The estimated base salary range for this role is noted below for our office location in Draper, UT. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in BILL’s bonus and equity plan. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.

Draper UT pay range

$107,800 - $129,100 USD
