Project Policy Analyst 4 - Pharmacy Project and Systems Analyst

Under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager for Informatics, Analytics, Diversion, and Automation, the Pharmacy Project & Med Systems Analyst (PPA4) leads cross-functional project management, operational reporting, and technology-enabled standard work across pharmacy informatics, analytics, automation, inventory technology modernization, and related programs. This role partners with the pharmacists on the team to take the lead on project coordination, KPI development, a vendor engagement cadence (regular performance reviews and follow‑ups), and digital collaboration/content management and knowledge management. Operates with a high degree of autonomy, engaging stakeholders across the Pharmacy Department and cross functional health system divisions (e.g., IT, Clinical Operations, Finance, Compliance), as well as external vendors. Hybrid work (mix of on-site and remote) may be available per department policy.

- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, information systems, business, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Five (5) years of experience in healthcare operations, informatics, or project/program analysis
- Experience with regulatory/accreditation standards and audit preparation in a healthcare setting
- Advanced project management skills and analytical/problem-solving; ability to operate with high autonomy across complex programs
- Skills in executive-ready communication and facilitation; strong interpersonal skills to influence across levels
- Proficiency with enterprise collaboration and content management platforms; skilled in information architecture (sites/spaces/libraries), roles/permissions, metadata, and version control
- Proficiency with healthcare information systems/EMR and reporting tools
- Advanced proficiency with office productivity tools (documents, spreadsheets, presentations), including advanced spreadsheet functions
- Operational and financial literacy with ability to interpret performance metrics, budget variances, and cost analyses to inform decisions
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in healthcare administration, informatics, public health, or related field
- Experience with pharmacy automation governance and KPI reporting
- Experience supporting inventory technology workflows and data validation
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and build consensus without formal authority

Department Overview

The Department of Pharmacy is a dynamic, integral, and critical part of patient care provided by UC Davis Health. As a department of greater than 600 professional, technical, and administrative support personnel, we focus on providing patient-centered medication management that optimizes outcomes through practice, education, research, and leadership through the continuum of care. We also have the largest pharmacy residency program in the country with 46 total residents in 13 different programs.
The Department of Pharmacy offers comprehensive pharmaceutical services (unit dose, IV admixtures, clinical services, infusion pumps, and teaching) throughout the health system complex 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The pharmacy services encompass inpatient pharmacy services as well as an expansive footprint in the ambulatory care space where we have clinical pharmacists embedded within our clinics and specialty care locations. Our operational teams support the health system enterprise with three inpatient pharmacies, five outpatient pharmacies, two infusion pharmacies, a home infusion service line, and the full complement of pharmacy purchasing, stores, and distribution.
