Controller Corporate Finance

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for internal stakeholders and financial institutions
• Manage general ledger activity, oversee major transaction accounting, and conduct in-depth financial analysis
• Implement process improvements to shorten the monthly close cycle and increase operational efficiency
• Develop and automate financial systems and tools, such as ACH payment platforms, corporate credit card programs, and financial planning modules
• Establish, document, and monitor internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and risk mitigation
• Evaluate and support financial aspects of business opportunities and strategic initiatives
• Maintain relationships with banks and lenders; support financing efforts and ensure timely preparation of loan draw requests and financing proposals
• Oversee day-to-day cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cost accounting operations
• Collaborate with CPA firms for annual financial statement reviews and ensure compliance with tax and bank reporting deadlines
• Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and variance reports; support quarterly financial performance reviews
• Provide regular financial updates and strategic recommendations to senior management
• Assist with operational planning, including evaluating staffing levels, overhead, and technology needs

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred
• Minimum of 710 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including management responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal control best practices
• Proven ability to lead a finance team and drive process improvements
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Experience with financial systems and tools; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus
