Preschool Associate Teacher - Remote | WFH

Responsibilities:

Create a Safe and Healthy Learning Environment

Supervise children at all times, ensuring a secure atmosphere in the classroom and playground.
Report accidents, thefts, and unusual occurrences immediately to the Program Director or Site Manager.
Adhere standards and regulations, following security procedures for safety.
Conduct daily health checks for all children and implement efficient pick-up and drop-off procedures.
Enhance Physical and Intellectual Competence

Foster positive interactions and relationships with children to support their learning and development.
Collaborate with the teaching team to plan age-appropriate lessons and activities, including leading circle time and providing input for field trips.
Offer remote learning support and staff coverage as needed.
Support Social and Emotional Development

Utilize age-appropriate guidance techniques, modeling positive behavior for children.
Employ Positive Descriptive Acknowledgment (PDA) to reinforce appropriate behavior and document necessary information regarding children's progress.
Collaborate with teachers to set and communicate appropriate developmental expectations.
Build Positive Relationships with Families

Develop trusting relationships with parents and guardians, honoring their cultural backgrounds.
Assist with parent-teacher conferences and encourage parental involvement in the program.
Ensure a Well-Run and Purposeful Program

Maintain classroom supplies and materials, ensuring a conducive learning environment.
Implement lesson plans effectively and complete required documentation, such as DRDP paperwork.
Engage in productive teamwork, maintaining good communication with colleagues and parents.
Demonstrate flexibility in adapting daily routines to maximize teachable moments while being a positive role model for children and staff.
Maintain Professionalism at All Times

Adapt to changing work schedules and promote the organization's philosophy and objectives.
Work towards obtaining or upgrading to a Teacher or Associate permit as needed.
Collaborate cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, and professionals while maintaining confidentiality regarding all matters related to children, parents, and staff.
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds and navigate stairs without limitations.
Maintain good health, passing required physical examinations.
Meet all necessary state, federal, and local standards, including fingerprinting clearance, negative TB tests, and First Aid/CPR certification.
Additional Responsibilities

Perform other duties as assigned to support the Site Manager and Program Director or as directed by the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

High school diploma required.
Knowledgeable and experienced in Early Childhood Education and Child Development.
Willingness to complete 12-21 units of Early Childhood Education/Child Development (ECE/CD) coursework as outlined in the Child Development Permit Matrix System.
Valid Associate Permit issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing, State of California.
Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply; proficiency in Spanish (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) is required.
