Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join our Client's tax practice in the Los Angeles or Newport Beach area. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex corporate tax engagements, lead client relationships, and mentor junior team members. The position is hybrid-based, providing flexibility while maintaining collaboration with a dynamic team of tax professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage corporate tax engagements for mid-market to large clients across various industries
- Prepare and review corporate tax returns, including federal, state, and local filings
- Provide tax planning and consulting advice to clients on complex tax matters
- Lead and supervise junior tax staff and coordinate engagement delivery
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships and serve as primary contact for assigned accounts
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and professional standards
- Contribute to business development initiatives and practice growth
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA license (active, current, and in good standing)
- Minimum 5-7 years of corporate tax experience
- Strong knowledge of corporate tax law, regulations, and accounting principles
- Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with accounting software and tax preparation tools
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment with strong time management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Big 4 or national accounting firm
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) tax matters
- Knowledge of multi-state and international tax issues
- Prior experience mentoring or supervising accounting staff
