Senior Communications Engineer

Senior Communications Engineer Location Remote in San Francisco, CA :

We are looking for a Communications Systems Engineer to provide design support on major transit projects. The ideal candidate has an analytical mindset, a background in rail transit and communications systems, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Work within a team to provide communications systems engineering for rail transit projects involving:
  • Radio systems
  • Display systems
  • Public address systems
  • Voice over IP telephone networks
  • Fire telephone systems
  • Emergency telephone systems
  • Fiber optic networks including WDM
  • CCTV
  • Intrusion detection systems.
• Prepare plans and specifications.
• Prepare design calculations.
• Prepare design reports.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 10+ years of related experience
• Knowledge of the principles of communications systems
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is desired
• Familiarity with rail transit industry standards, practices, and regulations
• Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineering registration (preferred)
• Experience in design or construction of rail transit systems (preferred)
• A skilled oral and written communicator
• Proficient in MS Office applications
• Able to work in a cooperative team environment.
• Motivated to learn and grow within a cooperative environment.
