Salary: $85,000 – $180,000 + Bonus + ESOP + Full Benefits

A well-established employee-owned mechanical contractor in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team. This organization has over 100 years of experience delivering large-scale HVAC and mechanical systems for complex commercial and institutional construction projects.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a design-build mechanical construction environment supporting engineering, project management, and field operations on large commercial, healthcare, and institutional projects .
Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities
- Assist with HVAC and mechanical system design for commercial construction projects
- Support design-build mechanical engineering efforts from preconstruction through installation
- Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and field teams during project execution
- Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and submittals
- Assist with equipment selection, system layouts, and technical documentation
- Participate in coordination with architects, general contractors, and other engineering disciplines
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience with HVAC systems, MEP engineering, or mechanical construction preferred
- Knowledge of commercial building mechanical systems
- Familiarity with design-build project delivery is a plus
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Projects Engineers on this team support large commercial and institutional projects , including:
- Hospitals and healthcare facilities
- Medical office buildings
- High-rise commercial buildings
- Government and institutional facilities
Typical project sizes range from $50M – $150M total construction value .
