At Magical, we empower organizations to automate the complex, manual workflows that are essential to their operations. We’re building a brand new product, and this is your chance to join as a founding engineer. In just a few months, we’ve already hit product-market fit and closed six-figure deals with a clear path to much bigger contracts. We’re not starting from scratch either: our existing product has generated millions in revenue. Now, we’re evolving that user base toward our agentic future while consistently bringing in new customers.

You’ll work in a small, nimble team tackling challenging, ambiguous problems at the cutting edge of technology and learn something new every day. We believe the effort and raw hours you put in directly shapes the outcome. Speed matters, and we move with focus and intent.

Projects you might work on

• Multi-agent architecture - Build and refine how multiple agents collaborate to solve complex workflows

• Evals Engine - Provide users with a powerful toolkit to quickly bring automations to production-grade reliability

• Feedback-driven learning - Capture user fixes in real time and teach agents to improve themselves automatically on the next run

• Authentication - Build seamless login and 2FA flows that let agents capture a session once and securely reuse it throughout the platform

About you

• Have 2+ years of software engineering experience at a fast-paced startup, mostly in TypeScript and React

• Have been coding outside of work for 5+ years, through side projects, open source, and more recently, AI

• Have a strong bias towards action, a willingness to do whatever it takes, and embody show > tell

• Have a strong sense of agency, effectively prioritizing and unblocking yourself without much outside input.

• Studied Computer Science (or related field), or dropped out to build stuff
