STAR Smog Inspector

Under limited guidance, perform smog inspections of motor vehicles. Effectively utilize opportunities to cross sell other Club products and services, increasing member awareness and satisfaction.

Job Duties

• Perform Smog Inspections for Club members and the motoring public at Smog Centers in accordance with California State Smog service procedures, laws and Club service quality levels.

• Inform members through oral and written communications of the condition of their vehicles and smog check results.

• Maintain facility, diagnostic and smog equipment in proper working order.

• Ensure the facility is in compliance with Bureau of Automotive Repair requirements for equipment, signage and licenses.

Qualifications

• High School GED Preferred

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Automotive Repair Industry Required

• Must be able to operate a manual transmission

• Must have automotive mechanical, technical, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

• Must have basic computer skills with a general knowledge of the Microsoft Office software products, such as Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.

• Must be able to travel between Los Angeles and Costa Mesa facilities, once per month

Safe Business Driving Requirements

• Valid California driver's license and a great driving record required.

The starting pay range for this position is:

$28.93 - $38.53
