Position Title: Mechanical Drafter
Reports to: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Position Description:
As a key member of our Team, you will be responsible for creating and modifying SolidWorks models, assemblies, and drawings related to mechanical assemblies and manufacturing processes. As well as creating and modifying SOP documents. Taurus Engineering has been in Long Beach for over 50 years and provides submersible cables and connectors for oil companies all over the world.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Create and modify SolidWorks models, assemblies, and drawings.
Create and modify Standard Operating Procedures.
Communicate effectively with the Engineering and Production departments.
Provide timely updates for drawing completion and workload.
Other duties may be assigned.
Supervision Responsibilities:
None
Organizational Responsibilities:
Work interactively with Design Engineering and Production Departments.
Manage workload effectively.

Minimum Qualifications unique to this position:
Skilled at using SolidWorks within a mechanical design and assembly environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical assemblies.
Ability to create, read, and understand Engineering drawings.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:
Experience documenting, creating, and modifying Standard Operating Procedures related to mechanical assemblies.
Associates or BS degree in engineering with a focus on mechanical engineering.
Experience with 3D slicing software.
Experience with basic machine shop and hand tools, i.e., drill press, mini-lathe, bandsaw, etc.
Travel:
Limited travel may be required.
Computer Skills:
SolidWorks, with a focus on mechanical assemblies.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Safety and Housekeeping:
Adhere to the companys safety and housekeeping standards and procedures.

Regularly required to sit and walk.
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
