Development Efficiency Engineer Location San Francisco Bay Area, CA :

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Developer Efficiency Metrics specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing unified frameworks for metric collection and visualization across our software development lifecycle. Your focus will be on improving developer efficiency and productivity by identifying and measuring key metrics related to our development, build, and release processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain unified frameworks for metric collection and visualization, spanning the entire software development lifecycle (Dev -> Build -> Release).

  • Collaborate with development teams to understand their needs and requirements for efficient metric tracking and reporting.

  • Serve as developers' point of contact (POC), assisting them with programming languages, frameworks, and tools related to metric collection and visualization.

  • Configure data pipelines based on engineering concepts such as ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) to ensure seamless data flow and integration.

  • Identify and define team, engineering, and business metrics for both internal and external consumption, aligning them with the company's goals and objectives.

  • Incorporate various data sources, including scuba, hive, and SQL, to establish a

    homogenous layer for metric analysis and reporting.

  • Continuously analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the metrics, making

    recommendations for improvement based on trends and insights.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as DevOps, data engineering, and

    quality assurance, to ensure efficient metric collection and reporting processes.

  • Stay current with industry best practices, tools, and technologies related to metric

    collection, visualization, and developer efficiency.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Strong experience in working with generating various reports, dashboards using different tools.

  • Strong experience in understanding Data sets and their pipelines.

  • Strong experience in software development and/or DevOps roles, focusing on

    optimizing processes and improving efficiency.

  • Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks, with a solid

    understanding of data structures, algorithms, and APIs.

  • Experience with data engineering concepts, including ETL processes and data pipelines.

  • Familiarity with metrics and analytics platforms, such as Scuba, Hive, and SQL, for data collection, analysis, and visualization.

  • Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and related tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex systems and processes.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Attention to detail and a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.

WE OFFER

The annual salary range for this role is $80,000 - $250,000 per year.

The Annual Salary depends upon various job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand. This range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
