Job Title: Phlebotomist Job Description The primary role of a Phlebotomist II is to assist in performing various duties, troubleshoot issues, provide training, and make workflow recommendations. This position requires a high level of customer service and proficiency in specimen collection and processing. Responsibilities + Perform blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needles. + Label specimens and centrifuge them according to test requirements. + Record maintenance data and ensure decontamination procedures are followed. + Update patient information accurately. + Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process clearly and courteously. + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. + Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required. + Check test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy. + Package specimens for transport, ensuring they are stored at required temperatures. + Enter orders and perform data entry using the LabCorp Touch system. Essential Skills + Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) + Proficient in venipuncture and specimen collection + Phlebotomy certification + Experience in blood draws and specimen processing + Basic Life Support (BLS-AHA) certification Additional Skills & Qualifications + High level of customer service skills + Ability to float between various patient service centers + Strong data entry skills Work Environment This is a FLOAT position supporting patient service centers in Chino, Eastvale, Riverside, and Upland. Candidates must be available between 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, working 8-hour shifts as scheduled by management. The role is primarily based in large-volume patient service centers, with approximately 160-200 patients seen daily. Most work is performed standing, apart from check-in and break times. The position involves working in a team setting with around 8 other phlebotomists, and requires interaction with pediatric and geriatric patients. Training includes one week onsite, with additional processing training offsite at a later date. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.11 - $23.11/hr.
