- This position is eligible for the annual performance bonus plan.

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. THE PURCHASING TEAM
Cupertino Electric’s Purchasing Team manages all equipment and materials purchases for both job sites and corporate expenditures. This includes vetting vendors and establishing and maintaining relationships with new and loyal suppliers.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Manager, Purchasing who will be in charge of managing the day to day purchasing of electrical commodities in support of field operations and project management. This includes the development of purchasing procedures, policies, activities, and methodologies as well as reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs). The ideal candidate is adept at communicating with vendors and internal business partners.
- Assign, supervise, and evaluate work of the purchasing agents; recommends personnel actions related to selection, performance, work schedules, and assignments.
- Provide structure, coaching and guidance to a team of purchasing agents.
- Mentor and provide training to purchasing agents and assist in development of the team and individual skills; perform purchasing related training.
- Assists with developing purchasing procedures, policies, activities, and methodologies.
- Report on key performance indicators and look for ways to improve week over week
- Must be adept at communicating with vendors and internal business partners to establish and maintain credibility for the sourcing function, while increasing service to our internal business partners - improving the quality and performance levels of the supply base to achieve the lowest total cost to the Company.
- Must be able to develop, coordinate and control multiple process and or projects, achieving on time purchasing services to satisfy the operating requirements of the Company, while delivering a high level of customer service to the organization.
ABOUT YOU
You are a supply chain and logistics whiz with a natural ability to juggle different priorities, while maintaining mutually beneficial relationships. You bring a commercial mindset and are able to negotiate effectively. As a people-oriented professional, you bring a safety-first attitude and have experience delivering a high level of customer service to internal and external partners. You have experience coordinating many processes and projects and have experience managing a combination of direct and indirect reports.
- People-oriented with decision-making skills. Proven communication and organizational skills.
- Verifiable experience with a safety-first attitude, and dedicated work ethic
- Demonstrated ability to handle numerous tasks, projects, supply lines, clients, and vendors simultaneously.
- Must have experience managing a team of 8-10 direct/indirect reports
- Ability to use MS Outlook, MS Excel, and Purchasing / Requisition Software

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: High school or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Licensure/Certifications: None required. CPM preferred.
Experience: 5-10 years of electrical material experience working with an electrical contractor or electrical distributor is ideal. Relevant experience from other related industries may be considered.
